Liverpool Archives
On 12 January 2026 a large group of Local History members visited the 'Liverpool Archive's' department which is located within the Liverpool Central Library complex. Our group travelled to Liverpool by train.
We had a wonderful 2 hour group tour where we saw a large number of documents, rare books, ancient maps, old newspapers, digital collections like oral histories and film footage.
Towards the end of our guided tour, the archives department laid on a special display for our members, allowing us to look at and study a full range of photographs, maps and documents relating to 'Early Liverpool City Centre and the Old Docks,
All the staff were knowledgeable and helpful and all our members had a memorable day.
