Burtonwood Museum Visit

In June, eleven Lets Go members made a visit to the Burtonwood museum which is on the site of the RAF /USAF airbase in WW2 and later in the Cold War.

We learned about its part maintaining aircraft including those involved in  keeping West Berlin supplied in the attempt by Russia to starve it into submission.

The base employed 18,500 people at its peak and the large contingent of US personnel made a lasting impression on the people of Warrington.

The museum is run by volunteers and well worth a visit.
